Then why are you still graded 1257?
I have no evidence- based reason to doubt you likeforest, but in March you were losing to players rated 1100/1200, so improving to a standard where you can (routinely) get points against class A tournament players / master candidates (as I think you are implying) over the last few months does seem ....well, quite Fischer- like!?!
And your comment about having the openings in front of you in CC chess is part of the game, and perfectly acceptable. You can soon beat a 1200 rated player using a database, by side-stepping the theory and thrashing them 🙂

Police, I made those comments obviously in jest of CC. They were not to be taken seriously. Maybe you missed the part about dabbling with blindfolded games here.

R.I.P Purdy, you did much for the chess world. I pour over your games and annotations with the highest respect for you and your carrer. Speaking of Pudy, does anyone know where to find a reasonably priced copy of The search for chess perfection?

I think cc chess improves your opening play. playing a 1600 player on here is almost the equivelant of a 1800 player because the ones that use opening databases use the strongest moves. so in the clubs i slaughter people because of their poor opening knowlidge. although i have been batterd at the club because of some openings i did not know.

(Maybe some of the English RHPers can give their opinions.) I think he's somehow connected to a chess store in London, also.
what is chess4less?
Edit - Also read my post in the link I provided earlier for more info if you haven't already done so.

Why just talk about improvement? Face it...Unless you're under 16 you won't improve much anymore. Unless you commit yourself to a lot of study every day for a long period, you may be lucky and go up by 200 points at best.
