Very true (that's why I added the line about him resigning because he was "playing Keres" as one of many possibilities), but I don't care about any of that. I just wanted to get opinions from other players on the position, and I only wanted their opinions on the position itself, not any extraneous factors.

The position I posted isn't from the actual game, but an analyzed line stemming from the final position of the game.

It is certainly possible that time had something to do with the result of the actual game- I think your hypothesis is probably close to the mark.
