"....how would you prepare for Anand?"
OK Lets us assume for one ½ post I'm Carlsen.
I'm thinking how does Anand prepare for me?
Back to me being me.
"....how would you prepare for Anand?"
Wait till he was not looking then whack him over the head with a chair.
Back to me being Carlsen.
Me being Norwegian I'd get the match out of India to somewhere cold.
Finland sounds good.
Then I'd wait till he was not looking and whack him over the head with a chair.
Originally posted by greenpawn34I was listening to a Roman 'crazy hairdo', Dzindzichashvili lecture on Larsen, in which he quoted Larsen as stating that the match he played against Fischer took place in Virginia, which was exceptionally hot for Larsen. As the match will take place in Chennai formerly Madras I wonder if the conditions will have any effect on Magnus, who like us, is as son of the frozen North.

The Fischer-Larsen match took place in Denver, Colorado.
Yes it was apparently hot but Larsen had draws he could have taken but
pressed on trying to win.
India wil favour Anand both in the climate, the noise and the food.
MC will have to get there early to climatise and perhaps take his own chef. 😉
It's not done and dusted yet. I still think an offer will come from another country
and even if he losses the new prize fund will set up Anand for life so he cannot refuse.
What do you mean children of the frozen North?
In Edinburgh we have central heating. We are not sitting around like you lot
in caves wrapped up in a thin kilt.
Originally posted by greenpawn34No way dude, i was up in North Berwick a few weeks back, Polar bears and Orcas roaming around and Inuits in Musselburgh! was Baltic man, but no midges, thankfully. Denver is in Virginia, West Virginia, just sayin. 😛

Originally posted by greenpawn34I think it would be awesome in Chennai, Indians are among the greatest supporters in the world, this event would be huge.
Venue update.
The Carlsen camp are not too happy and want the venue changed.
