Hmm, well I don't see clicking a square vs. physically touching one as a distinction that could possibly make any difference.
Originally posted by SquelchbelchI've done the vision exercises, and the knight ones. The concentric circle one is absolutely brilliant. I jumped from 1300 to 1483 from just doing those. I stopped doing them, and dropped to the low 1400's. I started doing them again, along with some other studying, and I recently hit 1500. As for the tactics, I just try to do some everyday. Its just too difficult for me to keep up with.
I meant anyone on the site.
The full 7 cycles, 1209 problems?

Are you actually using CT-Art?
I know we PM'd recently about this & I thought maybe Chess tactics for beginners
http://products.convekta.com/198/2/
may be better for -1300 players to start.
I think many of the CT-Art problems would be hit-and-hope for -1300's & may put them off.
The pattern recognition aspects would probably sink in though with practice.

The find the draw & how to proceed puzzles are still very useful to me, as are many of the mates in 2.
I had been doing 50-100 per day on CTFB & 25-50 on CT-Art which I only bought a couple of weeks ago.
The ELO ratings are hilarious!
What have you been getting? I think my highest on CTFB was 2150 for a 100 puzzle test! 😲

25-50 on Ct-Art about the same I guess.
I'm lucky because I can do them at work sometimes & many are the geometric ones (forks/skewers/pins) which I've done over & over again.
I've done 900 of the Ct-Art exercises & 1000 of the CTFB ones so I've yet to complete either.
I think it's best to thoroughly ingrain the easier tests first, then move on to the less straightforward puzzles.
Originally posted by SquelchbelchOn beginners, my elo rating is about 2000. One intermediate I think its about 1950. Clearly the Elo ratings are not meant to be used interchangeably with USCF ratings. ( or maybe I am really an expert in a class c's body 😛
