I have the rook sacrifice played in my database. Instead of 17 Rae1 going for the rook sac I think you should have tried 17Nd2 that looks even better.
Edit Actually it looks much better I think Nd2 forces mate. After Rae1 he can stop the mate with Bf5 but he'll have to give up both his Knight and his bishop.

Originally posted by 93confirmedYes Ne4 was the move I was thinking about. And after that one but i don't see it as lost yet. At least not in the next five moves or so. And once again maybe I'm missing something.
It's a lost cause to play on here because the only way to stop the mate on g5 via the Rook is by giving up material with Ne4. From there, white will have several tempos to use while Black tries to develop his remaining pieces...
Originally posted by 93confirmedI think that if white moves reasonably it has a pretty won position but if black looks out it can fightback a little bit. aand if white blundered we got ourselves a game again.
You're right, it's not immediate but White has the win...
But i think this one of my favourite games so far.
I'm relatively new to this site but here's one of mine:

I miscalculated with the Knight sac as I thought I could win the g7 pawn and Rook on h8 but was somehow able to survie some difficult positions and and almost missed a potential mate by my opponent. Any comments are welcome!

If qc5 then you would take his queen and check again. Again if he blundered and moved his king mate in the next move.
If he takes your bishop with the pawn move your rook to safety.

We can try it when I finish one of my games, now I am playing the maximum of them!! However, he can save himself only by sacrificing his bishop, after that I would attack his knight who defends mate with my knight and he can't defend it. Very interesting indeed.
Have fun
Originally posted by adam warlockI'm playing as White here and 25. Bd4 is a true blunder to say the least. The Queen would simply take the Bishop and still have the threat against the White Queen via the Rook on a8.
