"I already have an account (apparently). No idea when i set that up."
You set that account up 1½ years after that game I posted, that was two days
before you painted your front door red, around about the same time you went
to Bongnor for your holidays. I know all about you.
I've been following you for 10 years.
You look different through binoculars.

I've been playing with this idea for a while now and i thought i'd post it to get some input from you guys. It is an idea i had OTB a few years ago on the white side of the Chigorin defence and having just played a blitz game in this opening i thought i'd throw it out to the community for scrutiny...
For those unfamiliar with this opening, the opening ...[text shortened]... f5 Bh7 22. Rhg1 g6 23. fxg6 Bxg6 24. Rxg6 fxg6 25. e6 Qc8 26. Qf7[/pgn][/pgn]

...which isn't the chigorin defence. White could play 2.e4, is that a chigorin? It could be a Rue Lopez!
"For those unfamiliar with this opening, the opening moves are 1.d4 ..Nc6 2.c4 ..d5 3.Nf3 ..Bg4 (or as in this game, it can be reached via other move orders..)"
In your example game, the order of moves was 1.Nf3 Nf6 2.d4 d5 3.c4 Bg4
Next time, do not give an example game with different move orders, if you do not wish any one to comment on your example game.

Originally posted by greenpawn34The font on here is not-a-font. It's just letters, ASCII, in whatever font you ask your browser to display it in. This is good, because it's universal and compatible with every browser out there, and also with every PGN reader out there. It has to be, it's in the PGN standard: use letters for pieces, and if you share it with anyone, use KQRBNP. This works.
No problem postig with one. I've no idea what you are doing wrong.
You may have the wrong font (one of these piece displaying fonts) and
when transposing from that into....what ever the font is on here, then an error happens. Just a guess.
And you're quite correct, also, that if you use a symbol font - whether that's a specialised games-dingbats font with the pieces all over the place or one using Unicode symbols in the #2600 range - it is not likely to be compatible with anything else. After all, there's dozens if not hundreds of the blighters out there, they can't be compatible with all the others.
