Just play 1.e4 damn it!
No need to rediscover anything, play agressive book chess. Use MCO. Don't ask here.This has been discussed earlier.
MCO will give you the strongest ideas and *moves* if you care to buy it. It's a pretty thick book. Once you open it, you will see that 1.e4 is best.
Also d4 and all that nonsense. Like c4,Nf3 and blah blah blah. All very good moves, even f4 is good some say(I disagree). But who cares when you drop a piece right after the opening?There is no opening wins material by force. A book opening can give you slight advantage but if you don't know how to make that passed a queen, it will not help! Sooooo;
You will NOT learn chess by memorizing the openings.(You can learn a lot of chess by studying Caro-Kann, main line even, but few of them are like that)
STOP ASKING wheter e4,d4,c4,g4,b4,a4 or h4 is good. All are good if you play it right.
True chess is when there are fewer pieces on the board so that you discover the relationship between pieces, how to use the space, how to checkmate the opponent, zugzwang play, art of exchanging pieces, timesaving endgame play, squeezing etc...
And trust me on this, I have been playing book openings on this site and *mostly* never got out of it unless I have a good reason. It's not a lot of fun when your opponent does the same thing and you consistently end up in book positions which after a while can be very very very boring. But if you really understand why the book suggests the move and play it, it surely will improve your chess skills a lot. Not mentioning that your opening theory will be excellent and you will more likely win the game.
So just play 1.e4 and shhhh don't tell anybody that it's the best.

Also,
I will play Regicial, I think I can swindle him with my tricky chess.
I would love to give him a painful loss if he wants. I might lose too, I'm not superman, just a nicotineman. But I'm obsessed with chess lately just to warn you.
