Can you look up the games of your opponent to get an idea of what they might play?

If you can find them, maybe post a link here and some of the hiher rated players here might be able to advise about your opponents playing technique/style...chance favours the prepared mind!

Go for an opening you know very well and that usually ends in a tie. The FM must go off theory somewhere not to fall in a dull game, and that's where you can take some advantage.
