I think Black has no problems at all after 7...0-0 8. Qd2 Nc6 9. 0-0-0 d5! What line do you have in mind?
After 10...Nxd4 Dearing in his Play the Sicilian Dragon goes a bit nuts with his !'s But after 18.h4 I am not sure Dearing shows White's best moves. For example after 18.h4 he gives 18...Rd4 showing a quick Black win in which White played awfully albiet in a Blitz match.
But 18...Rd6 only gives 19.h5, when 19.Qe1 is probably better. I suppose we could go down this route however as the positional imbalances of 2 rooks & 2 bishops against Queen, Rook & Bishop may be quite instructive.
However I will bow down to your superior knowledge and experience as I really am not a big Dragon expert like yourself. So i will happily go with 7...0-0 and see what happens. 😉
Give my a nice dull Scheveningen anyday.
P.S. You greatly over estimate this opening if you say Black has no problems at all in this line 😉

After 18. Qe2 Rd6 19. h4, I don't think Black is any worse (in fact I prefer Black) after 19...Rb6 20. b3 a5, when 21. Qe3 Rd6 22. h5 a4 is probably best. I don't see Black having any problems here. Black still has both bishops, and despite the h-pawn being rammed down the board, his king is quite safe because of the Bf6.
As far as 18. Qe1 (I'm also assuming you mean this one, you wrote 19. Qe1) goes, this line is certainly tougher! I never thought Dearing's line was best. Here's what I would play:
18. Qe1 Rd6 19. Qa5 (the idea apparently) Rb6 20. b3 Rd6 21. h4 (I don't claim to know the best move) b6 22. Qe1 a5 and it looks like Black has great counterplay.
I should rephrase my previous statement to more accurately reflect my view on 9. 0-0-0 in the Dragon - White can pose Black solvable problems. 😀

I agree with Schakuhr (1-0) and Najdorfslayer (5 ... a6!!! 0-1) though. Who voted for g6, and why was there no 'veto'? 😉

Originally posted by davaniel9. Bc4 is probably the better move. If you think the Dragon is a win for White, then I'd encourage you to post the lines. I think if Karjakin lost to Radjabov, and Carlsen thinks it's good enough, I doubt you're going to refute it. It's a completely fine opening, and for some reason entices people who have no idea what they're talking about to post things like, "Oh man, it's so easy to beat the Dragon. Play h4-h5 and checkmate him LOLZ" I've had many people say that they're going to "Slay my Dragon", and thus far, very few have succeeded.

I would guess that given the popularity of 9. Bc4 and 12. Kb1, that's what we'll see in this game.
I wanted a Winawer or MacCutcheon French, myself.
Then I voted for 2. ... Nc6 for an Acclerated Dragon.
Once we got down to a choice between the Najdorf and Dragon, I'd much rather take my chances with the Dragon.
I'd rather be trading punches than defending patiently.
If we do get into the Bc4 Yugoslav, we have a lot of choices.
I've played h5 (Soltis), Qa5 (Ward), Qb8 (!? with a pawn sac), and experimented with others.
0-0-0 immediately may be best, but I find it hard to believe that white is won.
