Just went over all the site and it does seem genuine enough.
It's a brave step and I hope it succeeds but the problem
of engine use still lurks.

They have thought about it hence the red and blue flag system.
But another poster was correct - would you play against a red flag?

Anyway, I've just joned/tried to join and I can't seem to get into the game client? It says that I'm logged in to the site, but when i try to enter the same details to access the client it says they are not recognised!

Has anyone here joined and managed to log in and play yet??

Well it's a thoroughbred moneymaking venture isn't it. If you're good you may be able to break even long term. If you cheat you may be able to break even before you get flagged. If you stake at all you're a mug. Pay your 15 quid and then play for sheer enjoyment, that's what I say.
