Indeed, that was a beautiful sacrifice.... I think sometimes it's worth the risk going for a line you're not completely sure about, just to get an occasional result like this!
It was also nice of your opponent to allow you to finish with a mate - while resigning in hopeless situations is usually polite (and I'm sure peterh saw that mate coming towards the end), in cases of spectacular mating attacks I think it's a show of appreciation for the beauty of the play to let it go right to the bitter end... 🙂
