My blitz chess has always been above the 1500 mark, I kinda got stuck around 1650 never really maintaining it. I kinda put it down to too many bullet games. I've since stopped playing loads of bullet chess.

For the first time I'm going over tactics and endgames, my rating is creeping up and I'm now around 1720.

I think you improve more if you break your legs in a row, like one at a time, than if you break both of your legs at a time. You will get double free time!
Job sucks, so less free time 🙁

Is this ...[text shortened]... here they have 2000 games and a rating of 900. The other way around might be nice though heh.
You've plateaued -- everyone plateaus. When you first started studying the game, you had a larger gulf to cross, but this was easily remedied by study or through lessons. Unfortunately, each successive leap in rating or ability will take geometrically more time and effort than the last bit of progress required.

Keep in mind that relatively small changes in your rating could show relatively big improvements in your game. A 200 point difference in rating is typically the point at which the stronger player should score 75%. So increasing 200 points in rating means that the player who used to beat you 15-5 in a 20 game match is now fighting tooth and nail to get a 10-10 draw.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm doing a lot of the mentioned stuff. I have reasses your chess and art of attack on my wishlist at amazon and will be ordered some time this month. Training your brain to approach things differently than you have for 33 years isn't that easy heh. Doing a lot more puzzles in one week than I have in 2 months. I'll get there. Thanks for the help.
