Well we ain't made a move in almost 3 days, so I say we close the voting in 2 hours and move. I hate seeing those green boxes on My Games page! Unless there's a late run of support for the Lopez, it looks like the Scotch. I say from now on we make a three day time limit for discussion and voting for moves. What say ya?

3 days it should be, but you have to realize that this thread has only been up for 2, so we have one more day for voting.

I can't imagine why we would need three days to vote; the people following the game will surely vote on the first or at most the second day. Only three people have voted today. I would suggest two days for discussion and 1 day for voting.

Wait, so first you want 3 days for voting, now you want 1 day. Make up your mind

Are you familiar with the meaning and use of the word "AND"?

Obviously, but you seperated it, pal. Be more clearer next time and we won't have any confusion. I agree with you on the time limit

What is is with people today thinking they're all English teachers?? If I wanted to say we should have 3 day limits for BOTH discussion and voting I would have used the word BOTH. And if you were confused, pal, you could have simply asked me to clarify rather than using your "make up your mind" crack.

I dont think there should be a set time, some moves might be more complex and the debate might go on longer than 3 days, but I agree we shouldnt tally around for no reason.

I think most people have voted, so we might as well make the move :-)

The Scotch has been poured!

Well I was thinking the 3 days could be a minimum time and we could extend it if people wanted to have more discussion and do more analysis. I don't think it's always going to be necessary to even use 3 days though: recaptures, forced moves, etc.

We know Fritzie's next move unless he wants to transpose into a Philidor. Assuming he plays exd4, I say stay with the main line Nxd4: I don't think we should gambit. What's everybody else think?

I thought the strategy was to avoid a tactical game where Fritz will no doubt have the upper hand, and play for position. Surely that is the purpose of the gambit?

Yep,Nxd4 with a solid scotch game seems best.
