[Dragon has forced Homerjsimpson into posting this message] Guys Dragon Fire is the most dispecable per.. I mean Dragon Fire is the greatest Grob player of all time! He is truly a Grand Master of the Grob and posting a Whopping 97% winning percentage! The Grob is a highly tactical game that commences with 1. g4, and it is nearly unstoppable! People fear the Grob so bad now that this is a common reply against it: Game 3135356

... and yes I do have a 97% winning percentage but only 1 game against someone rated higher than me and that I lost and every other opponent was at least 200 rating points below me, so I admit it even I am fearful of playing the Grob against stronger opponents.
Except OTB here is a Grob by an unknown member of Fareham Chess Club against 2125 opposition - http://www.farehamchess.org.uk/gameview.php?view=27
Edit: Update to results of Grob P40 W38 D1 L1 for second GM norm.

The Grob is not a good sensible opening at all. The reason why Dragon Fire wins with it is not because of the power of the opening but that he is such a superb player that he would beat most opponents no matter what first move he makes. How many grandmasters play the grob then?
Hey DF check this out, a top player using the Grob and winning: Game 2184078 and here Game 2580856 (that last one doesn't count, but he still used it).

Hey DF, was our game posted in this thread? some people might like to see our DRAW! 😀 (commendable to me, but really I tried my best to keep it simple and equal... I was playing for a draw and I think I'm lucky I was on top of my game when we played) Game 3078054
Originally posted by ChessJesterPerhaps I should have played on but I still cannot see anything in that final position and I think the only win will come for the guy whose opponent makes a careless mistake.

but I am pretty impressed by Seadevil playing the Grob against a player 2000+ and winning.
My result with the Grob now is P52 W48 D3 L1 (Korch) although this does include a few black games in the Grob tournament. Another 6 wins are in the bag so 60 wins coming up for my 3rd GM norn.

Now that is impressive.
Originally posted by Ramiri15I feel humbled. I have never played Seadevil but if I do I think I will avoid the Grob.
