These vitamins and such are just steroids for chess (if they work).

My recipe for chess success:

Strong coffee in the morning before a tournament, naps during my opponent's turn to move during the afternoon game, fine tobacco between the evening rounds, and a glass of bourbon to cure a losing skid during online blitz. It is not necessary that the coffee be fair trade certified, dark roast, fresh ground, and French pressed, but it helps. The tobacco should be a small cigar, or good quality pipe tobacco (not Prince Alburt from a can). Naps during OTB play require practice to be used effectively, and it helps if you are over 40 and have a sleep disorder. Improving blitz play with bourbon requires a small glass sipped; if you chug beer, especially American pseudo-lagers like Budweiser, it will wreck your game.

It is essential to maintain a balanced diet of the four basic food groups--alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and fat.

😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 😉

(Actually, I think that regular exercise, lots of water, and a low carb diet (unless you're young and run marathons) will improve mental acuity. Chess skill must be developed on its own, but it helps to have a functioning brain. I will stick to moderate amounts of good coffee in the morning, afternoon naps, and my nightcap, however. These help best when balanced with exercise. I take a one-liter bottle of ice water to chess tournaments, and refill the bottle from the drinking fountain at the playing site.)

As for the vitamins and stuff. I'm not sure how much they are $ but why not spend that money on a chess teacher ?

I drink pop before tourneys now days since everyone esle drinks coffee or tea. That bitter taste of pop makes me angry and play better. HAHA just joking. I don't know I just drink it because i think it helps a bit?? And then lots of water.
Well, all I know is I have a clear win, and he's still playing. All along, his rating is taking a nose dive and the points I earned with this alleged "monster 1700 chess player" is probably going to end up being 4 points after his rating dives to 700 like Lewellyn (whose was 1700) whom I defeated with resignation after he dived to 700 rating! How can you win? Seems like every 1700 rated player I defeat ends up taking rating nose dive! Oh well, such is life. Grandmouster could be kind enough to resign and give me what points I will get with his 1620s rating, but I can't force him to and no one else can either. So, I guess I'll just keep playing the next 20 moves to mate him with a rook and king.

Over the years, a body collects toxins from , drugs, alcahol, insectisides, pollution, chemicals in dry cleaning, food, etc.
These toxins stay in the system for a long time. The brain and body gets affected. You need a sharp mind to make good moves.
This gets worse with age. Young kids can learn chess much faster then adults, because they have less toxins and a fresh brain.
My group is for anyone intrested in discussing how to reverse the clock, and use their brain for better chess

I don't think thats a clear win at all. I tried my hand at it and barely found the right path. I know at the top level its easy but I had a hard time with it.

I was playing over 1700 guys and their ratings drop below mine, like a 100 points. O well, that's RHP for ya.

Good luck with that game 🙂

Rahim! I know you don't play that badly! All I have to do is walk my rook into his king in zig zags until he can no longer check me. And, then, I can queen the pawn! Geez! LOL

Walk you king into his rook you mean. Easier said then done.

Ah, the joys of reading endgames books.
