Black won't play 12...fxe6. He'll play 12...Nxe5!

Had it all worked out when I played it and the correct move is Qf5 instead Qh5+. Point being that black has better moves to play and ...h5 was probably the best of them.

Don't expect the Morra Gambit to completely hold up to analysis. Fun it may be but do not expect to gain any advantage against correct play. Remember how many OTB 2700+ games do you see with it?
The fact that Andy Martin played an opening is no recommendation at all. He was and always will be a complete hacker! If you are serious about chess, spend your time on sounder openings and endgame theory.

Martin is a good hacker though. Proof you can get to IM standard
if you really do excel at tactical play.

However. the Queen Nabber is correct, the Morra is a rare sight on the 2700+ table.

But on here....

1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3 dxc3 4. Nxc3

On the 1400 DB it scores 51% wins v 39% losses.

99% of the lads on here play for the sheer enjoyment of playing chess.
I don't think many of us are going to bump into a 2700+ player.

Most are about as serious as it will ever get but they still get enough enjoyment
out of the game without studying sounder openings (what ever they are)
and endgames.

Let them have their fun. They love the game.

Goshen: What does this mean?

Black won't play 12...fxe6. He'll play 12...Nxe5!

TomTom: What does this mean?

12...Nxe5 13.Qg7 Bf6? 14.exf7+
or 13.exf7+ Nxf7 (13...Kf8?? fxg8(q)+ etc) 14.Qg7 Ne5 15.Bxg8 Rxg8 16.Qxg8+

Both read as total nonsense without diagrams.
Consider yourselves chastised.

I was thinking of you when i decided not to put a diagram in. 😉 I didn't want to steal your thunder.
