True but if there are 20 or 30 prepared then the load won't be too difficult to bear.

Ok, First, I wanna make it clear what this board is here for. It's here to talk about chess. Theory, Openings, Middlegame, Endgame, In General, such as the US Championship, FIDE Unification, Nakamura beating the tar out of Karjakin, etc.. That much is probably clear to everyone. Now, what this forum is NOT for: Rants and Raves. It's ok to rant and rave ab ...[text shortened]... Tony

[Edit: I admit I am guilty too, and will immediately cease!]
Good idea... Could you be specific as to who are you talking about exactly? 😉

Don't like the idea of muzzling Mataleuse. As someone said, you don't have to read any of his rants. Just don't click on them. Sometimes when I feel a little down, I like to read them because I see someone who feels worse himself. As long as they tangentially relate to chess, let him go. To tell the truth he brings a little pizzazz to the forum, more of the human element, as opposed to the latest variation in the Ruy. If you muzzle him and all like him, the forum will be like Gameknot, really bland and boring because the guy over there muzzles everybody who is "off-topic" I think is the coverall phrase to censor, just as the politic police use the phrase "slandering the state" to get rid of opinions they don't like. As long as he doesn't deluge the forum, let him go.

He does though. At many times you can come in here and the four most recent threads are all authored by him about how his life sucks. Some are tangentially related to chess, others are not. They bring nothing but argument. I and others have pointed out if he worked his posts a little differently then he would gain a lot of useful advice. He doesn't want this. Anyone who tries to give him advice is told they are not helping when in fact they are trying to.

He has been deluging the forum and enough is enough, if he wants to have a floor show here he can do it in the General Forum.

Well, I tried awnsering this thread and the mods did their "duty" 2 times, I guess defending yourself is illegal. My only defense to Tony, and it's a good one, is that he is simply WRONG. Most of my posts in the chess forum are chess related, as No1 pointed out. Tony and similar ilk may not like the way I present this information (because it annoys them for whatever silly reason), but it is about chess. And Tony, don't tell me economics have nothing to do with chess, everyone knows the rich chess player has a greater advantage over the poor chess player, like any sport, to deny this, is falling into capitalist bliss. . .

It's just because everyone is sick of your stupid comments about capitalism and such things.
What capitalism has to do with chess?
If your posts were modded it means that they deserved moderation, and now you're acting crybaby in all forums.
Take your moderated posts like a man and move on if you can.

I'm just saying, if someone is gonna to create an attack post on you, the mods shouldn't be modding the person in question if they reply, that isn't exactly good and fair behaviour.

I would say that a solid 1/3 of your posts contain chess related information. You can't deny that you have created entire posts not related to chess at all, only to your social and economic situation. There is no denying it, and you and I both know that crap has no worth in the Chess Forum. Simple as that. Enough people have agreed with this posts, not to mention my boost in recs, to show that you in fact have been spamming this forum. So just stop. Some of the posts you have posted have also been awesome. The opening repetoire one, a couple of others, etc. were great. Just stick to those.

IDEAS

How about moderating those posts that pertain nothing to chess and moving them to non-chess related forum sections? When the post contains both chess and non-chess related material the poster should be encouraged to edit it so as to keep it clean.

How about a feature to be able to ignore other members?

Good idea and as this entire thread has actually nothing to do with chess I suggest it should be moved from the Chess forum and the person who opened it warned to not post non-chess material in the Chess forum in the future.

There is no need to be confrontational... Just moving the post should sufice to keep it clean [ I didn't originate the thread ]

It's called sarcasm and I'm aware who started the thread (which is entirely confrontational to begin with).
