I repeat
Yahoo! Chess is the only realtime chess site that one can access via a browser from behind a firewall that only allows port 80 and 443 out.
I have no idea why *ICS doesn't have this facility but it is enormously annoying 😠I mean really .. how hard is it to run off of a standard HTTP port!!
This of course doesn't detract from the man ...[text shortened]... eople have made .. but if you ain't got a choice you just have to put up with what you got 😉

Im pretty sure less then 10% of them are actually cheating, Ive played 10 games in the past week on yahoo and none of them cheated, because I couldnt have defeated them or played that well against an engine. Plus its pretty easy to tell when its a person and when its not
I have played over 2000 games easily on Yahoo chess before joining a chess club so I know what I am talking about when it comes to Yahoo.
1. The cheaters on there. The higher up you get the more cheaters there are.
2. The rating system is ridiculous. What does the rating 2000 mean? You could get that rating from beating up patzers in the begineer rooms or winning games in the advance room. Thus, the ratings mean nothing.
3. The stupid people and spammers on there.
4. The way the moves are recorded, not in pgn format.
etc....
So why is Yahoo Chess good?

But, shouldn't you work at work?
But getting back to yahoo chess, my problems with it are there seem to be a lot of cheats and extremely rude players there.
