Not one but several blunders in this one. VelvetEars and I are patiently waiting for a game between us that is worthy of the forum once more, this time I prevented that by a series of poorly thought out moves. No need to annotate, you'll see where they are 🙂

I thought I was doing pretty well in this game as white, until move 14.

As an aside, do you find that many of your black opponents do QGA dxc4.

Originally posted by tomtom232Thanks, it does look like a better move. Does it win material? I can't see this far... After 9.Ne2 I think ...Ba6 is the only move. Then 10.Nc3 anyway, right? Black can try to hold the c4 pawn by ...Qb3. I don't quite see what to do next. White should probably try to keep focusing on the doubled isolated pawns but how?

I shamefully admit, as much as I am a fan of Polugaevsky Variation, that each time I make longer berak in chess (i.e. no weekend games etc.) I forget all traps and basics (such as some basic endings) and I need time to regain som routine.
So, I got checkmated as a Black in a receent Blitz game...
😳 😳
