I sometimes wonder why people who absolutely know the game is over continue to play the game. I mean, I can understand if their chess coach instructs them to play all their games to the very end for sake of study. However, sometimes I think this is far from the truth for most people. As an example, I would like people to present games to the general publ ...[text shortened]... es or less. Didn't know you couldn't post unfinished games. So, there has been no harm done.
You will see that white just had to move his rook back to B4 on move 21 to win. At what point should I have resigned?
When I went a piece down?
When he was due to win next move?
Or later when he was further ahead?
Or perhaps I was right to hang around on the off chance of a draw.

There's no rule that you can't post games in progress, trust me. There's only a rule about receiving advice about a game in progress. But you can absolutely post games in progress. Game 1439140 See? Ban me if you can! BWAHAHAHAHA!

But, yes, you're absolutely right. There's nothing wrong with posting a game.
