if a train is goind from the east coast of united states to the west coast at 80 mph, and a train is going from the west coast to the east coast at 90 mph, when they meet wich one will be closer to the west coast?

All passengers on the one coming from the west coast would be closer to the west coast than any passenger on the other train 😉

Err, well if it's a more obvious answer, then when they meet they'll be the same distance from the West Coast.

Though I must admit I thought Mephisto2's answer implied this....?

(Given that a train isn't a point source...)
