Big dog and Wolfgang both have the correct answer so well done to you both.
in the six towers, seven of the die show 14 pips
6*14*7 = 588.
The total for the top die therefor, must add up to 112.(700-588)
The sides add up to 84 therefor the top pips must achieve a total of 28.
One combination coud be( 4*6) + (2*2) but this is not the question.
Well done again for the logic used to come up with the answer (6 towers, eight dice each).
I'll be getting the times again tomorrow(I only get one paper a week)so I'll see what the puzzle is and if it's suitable I'll post it.
If anyone else takes the paper, have you ever attempted "the listener" crossword?
I can't even follow the instructions on how to fill it in , never mind try to do it!!
@bigdoggproblem saidIt's the Saturday times in the U.K
Which paper is it?
I doubt if you can buy it in America but if you google "listener crossword" You'll get the idea!!
@venda saidI do the NZ Listener crossword every week ... it's at the right level for me.

Harder than the UK Daily Mail and a little easier than the Times.
The setter is David Tossman (google him), his clues are often humorous.
Common clue is "the Maori" which is invariably "TE" other than that it should be accessible to all.
btw @venda - appreciate your attempts to rejuvenate this forum! 😍

The theme is always something different.
By the time I've read thro' half the instructions I've forgotten what I've read!!
This weeks maths puzzle isn't really an algebraic one.
It's just wavelenghts in some musical scale.
