2. Unfortunately, I cannot see
3. I live in a flock
4. and spin when on the clock
1. OK .. the answer is VENICE
2. Why can't Venice see?
3. A flock of Venices?
4. A spinning Venice?
Explain. Either I'm stupid (likely) or the riddle is not that good.
😉

2. Blinds. Nuff said.
3, 4 I'm referring to the rectangular pieces of wood or plastic that are connected to make the whole set of blinds. They spin to let in light or close it out.
The answer is not Venice, it's Venetian Blinds. Look at it from that perspective.
And I made up the riddle, so it may very well not be very good.

So the answer to line 1 is VENICE
The answer to line 2 is VENETIAN BLIND
The answer to lines 3&4 is SLATS
(and where's the clock???)
Potentially a nice riddle but it needed a lot more work before posting!
However I have learned something about Venice so thanks for that!!
This entire riddle describes one thing: Venetian Blinds. There are no answers because there are no questions (except "Who am I?"😉. However many of the lines are suggestive or plays on words, not literal descriptions. A good riddle makes one think outside the box.
The Pope wed the sea to me
Describes Venice. You're right. It's not a direct description but a poetic one.
Unfortunately, I cannot see
Because they are "Blind"(s).
I live in a flock
It's not one Blind, it's plural - Blinds.
and spin when on the clock
When the Blinds are "working" ("on the clock"😉, the individual slats spin.
With my brothers I stop your sight
And make it night when it is light
When the Blinds are closed, you can't see through them...
A centaur carries our elected Lord
As he challenges the men with horse, lance and sword
Another Venice hint since no one was getting it.
Horses are used in Polo
My brothers and I never work solo
First line refers to Marco Polo, who brought the Blinds from China. The second line is just to fill space and give me a rhyme. Again, plural Blinds.
We used to work far in the East
Sending signals to warn against man and beast
In China, these Blinds were used to cover lanterns. Opening and closing the Blinds lets you send signals over long range.
The game brought us to our name
Marco Polo brought them to Venice, which is part of the name.
And to worldwide fame
Venice made them famous. That's why they're called Venetian.
When we are at work we sometimes make a clatter.
No one gets upset, though...it doesn't matter.
This should be obvious by now.
We are extremely attached to our brothers
Crammed close at times, till we think we'll smother
Also obvious, EXCEPT there's a play on works; the slats are attached at the ends, or the EXTREMES.
