i guess some of you have seen this before. if you have, dont post any solutions.

and try to solve this on your own...

1.b6+! Forcing Black to promote on the a-file.
1...Kxb6 2.h4 a5 ... 6.h8Q wins.

Well I didn't spot this one at all, though Q+P vs Q+P wouldn't work. Of course writing down the moves and it does.

If
1. b6+ Kb8
2. h4 a5
3. h5 a4
4. h6 a3
5. h7 a2
6. h8=Q a1=Q

Now Qxa1 is stalemate, but rather stupidly I missed Qg8, Qf8 or Qe8. Depending on blacks next move white will soon mate.

7........ Qc1/c3
8. Kd7+ (BTW any specific algebraic symbols for a check like this?)

7...Qc1/c3?? gives up too easily. Black will instead continue his theme of playing for stalemate by answering 7.Qg8 with Qa2!, etc.

But instead of 7... c1, can't blacks queen shuttle up and down the a column, keeping a diagonal attack on white's queen while white's queen is on row 8 - with QxQ = stalemate? I think it has to be specifically 7 Qe8

7 Qe8 Qa4
8 Qe5+ Ka8
9 Qh8
Now if black's queen moves to a1, white can take it - crucially with check, if black tries Qf4 white has Qa1 check, followed by mate.
