This is alarming on several fronts. Why African Americans dying so much more than whites, what is going on? I hope the docs figure this one out, although Trump will probably be dancing in the oval office.

@sonhouse

Why do white people get so much more skin cancer?

@Eladar
Just like a racist like you to deflect the issue. You know good and well why whites get skin cancer due to lack of melatonin. Try something else to deflect from the issue here racist.
I fully expect you to totally deny being racist 'just pointing out a science issue'..

Deflect the issue?
Lol, you do not even bother to ask why would the black population be more susceptible, just oh how is it that society is killing black people.

I provide a probable scientific theory to help explain why, you know the same reason seasonal viruses disappears and reappears each year.

Yet you cry racist. You cry how beautiful is the emperor's new clothes.

But, but but but...there is no difference between black and white people. We are all exactly the same.

Black people get sun burns just as easily as red headed people who have freckles.

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

Brainwashed morons.

I'll probably be called a racist for this but I think blacks live an unhealthier lifestyle
a higher percent of obesity, diabetes and other underlying health issues

@lemondrop

Vitamin D deficiency is linked to many of the health problems blacks have.

The truth on that is complicated and still uncertain with different studies giving mixed conclusions. For example, we have;

https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/factors-contributing-higher-incidence-diabetes-black-americans
"...
The study found that the chance of developed diabetes was significantly higher for black adults than for white adults (about 66 more cases of diabetes per 1,000 people). The greatest difference was between black women and white women.
The researchers used statistical analyses to determine how biological, neighborhood, psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral risk factors contributed to rates of diabetes. They found that biological risk factors accounted for most of the health disparity. These factors included a combination of body mass index, waist measurement, fasting glucose levels, lipids, blood pressure, and lung function. Differences between blacks and whites in neighborhood, psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral factors were also linked with diabetes, although to a lesser degree...."

but then we also have things like;

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/01/180102134830.htm
"...In a surprising finding, blacks and whites have the same risk of developing diabetes when all biological factors for the disease are considered over time, reports a study.
...
The finding flips long-held beliefs that there is an unexplained or genetic reason why blacks have double the rate of diabetes compared to whites by midlife, which is considered early onset.

"Obesity is driving these differences,"
..."

so I'm not sure exactly what's going on there.

Vitamin D and diabetes

25OHD deficiency has been shown to be related to the development of diabetes [63]. Recent studies have shown that 25 (OH) D levels are negatively correlated to prevalence of diabetes mellitus type 2(T2DM), islet beta cell function, insulin resistance, body fat, and BMI levels [64, 65]. Conversely, 25(OH)D levels were positively correlated with insulin sensitivity. 25OHD deficient individuals have a higher insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes risk

Do they cite a reference from an academic source I can access without having to give personal information to an organisation I have no particular reason to trust?

I would like to see stats based first based on income level of all people and then cross with income levels and each race . Healthcare in the US is known to be skewed in favor of those with higher incomes .

@caissad4

Which is why I would like to see studies done in the UK and Canada.
