Actually there were affects from covid, one was less air travel, which happened also from 9-11, less air travel had effects seen on energy reaching Earth, less jet trails and so less blockage of sunlight in total around Earth with literally thousands of less flights, in the case of 9-11, it was fairly short but with covid it was much more noticeable in the long run.

All the trees are gone? Wouldn't know it here in the Poconos where I live, place is fully forested. There is a lot of lost trees due to clearcutting in South America, the Amazon rain forest is getting smaller by the day but we as humans around the planet are pumping CO2 directly into the atmosphere, cars, trucks, boats, aircraft by the hundreds of millions, to say nothing of coal fired power plants. All adding up to CO2 in the atmosphere that wasn't here before 1800.

I think it is called the chopping block. It is an indication of the vaunted intelligence of humans, eh. We don't deserve to live on this jewel of a planet.
