India is so far away, but so was Wuhan....

Not my field, so I don't know. I imagine since NiV is more deadly than Covid, that it doesn't spread as fast/ is more easily contained. But I don't know. I don't think a vaccine will be developed unless it starts spreading fast, like into mainland Europe.

It's related to Hendra virus which occasionally appears in Queensland, but doesn't seem to spread in western countries, so there is no money to be made developing a vaccine.
