what about a North Swedish one, i heard from a very reliable source that you guys go for a sauna then run outside and plunge butt naked into the snow.

Originally posted by robbie carrobiethe trick is to keep breathing (properly), Robbie.. I've learned that from my business travels to Egypt, Middle East, Caribbean, South Africa... while the locals may have adapted, you just need to keep an eye on regular, deep breathing (through the mouth) while walking down the street, basically, THINK about BREATHING otherwise you'll end up sweating like a pig with your shirt sticking to your body, not a pleasant sight ...yeah, not far off from the technique dogs/animals use to release the heat.
when i was living in Pakistan, the Punjab, temperature in summer regularly exceeded 50 Celsius, man you could not go outside for more than an hour before you were drenched with sweat
p.s. Finnish sauna rocks... love it
p.s. speaking of the extremes (which excludes sauna), that would be around +50C (122 F) and -40C (-40 F) for me..

To measure the temperature in the water - just take a glance downward and measure the temperature in centimetre of it.
"How cold is it?" "Wait, I'll check!" About 4 cm!"

Anyone enjoyed a real sauna? A Finnish style one? There we're talking temperature.
Bring a raw egg into the sauna and it's cooked when you leave.
In Finland they have this joke that you're a real Finn if you think it's too warm when it's 20 degrees outside, but too cold if the sauna is 60 degrees.
