Like I said, without some lift, a paper airplane could never fly 200 feet, drag would pull it down long before it flew that kind of distance.
It's a matter of proof in the pudding.
Yes I saw you had said that.

Yes I did, but the way you post it looks like you don't believe there is any kind of lift on a paper airplane.

@OOOO
Maybe you could consider posting without language the autocensor doesn't like.
Who were you one your last outing here?

@divegeester ... How planes fly is an interesting ? It should be a 4 pt. course in physics to complete pilot training ... only ~ .03% of adults do in the US.
Basically the wing an airfoil falling thru the atmosphere (air), 1' down for 10 forward in myne.
The prop or thrust pulls or pushes the airfoil thru the air creating the "lift" via compression below & Bernoulli lift above the wing. The prop blades themselves are little airfoils : }
P-planes dont create any lift, they like a feather float down slowly due to their light weight to area ratio. Their initial E provided by the toss + the elev. of their release.

That’s what I thought.

@ all intrstd ; check out u-toobe (bruno vassel's good) videos on gliding ... these sleek birds fly for hours, gain 1000's of feet altitude ... w/ no engine ! 20-25 to 1 glide ratios ! Incredible.
How does this shape gain altitude w/o an engine ???
It doesnt and can't. It (pilot) seeks atmosphere temperature differentials ( warm rising air) and hitches a ride to the heavens ... much like a paper airplane occasionally catches a bump up. No thermals = short ride back to earth.
B careful tho., you may pick up a hobby that picks your pocket !

Well, tell me how a paper airplane can go 200 feet inside a building with ZERO wind inside or temperature gradients that you would see outside on a sunny day?

@sonhouse ; Your assertion is a bit silly, why wouldnt it fly 202' or 193 ?
The only way your scenario works is to have enough thrust, or altitude to overcome the resistance of exactly 200' of atmosphere ... not likely to have happened.

If you actually had googled the 200 foot run you would have seen it actually happened, just refusing to believe it just shows how biased you are in science.
Just like in the 19th century they thought men could NEVER fly because the wind would tear them to pieces.
200 feet was the measure of how many folks ever got to that distance with paper airplanes and it was finally done, now several times.

"Multiple paper airplanes have flown over 200 feet, including:
Black Knight: Designed by Jason Merrill, this plane flew over 200 feet and was intended to compete for the Guinness world record
Red Bull Paper Wings 2022: This plane won the distance category and flew over 200 feet
Factors that affect how far a paper airplane flies include:
Design
Longer, balanced planes fly farther, while shorter, heavier planes fly less
Forces
Gravity pulls the plane down, while air moving over and under the wings pushes it up
The Guinness World Record for the highest altitude paper plane launch is 114,970 ft.

@sonhouse The answer is still the same ... Its an energy balancing solution. I never said it was impossible, just unlikely ... mebbe we settle this across the board ??? : )
