Do you work for an ad agency?
@divegeester saidWhat I'm comparing is limiting forum thumbs to limiting criticism.
You’re comparing the limiting of forum thumbs to the actions of Joseph Stalin?
Learn to read.
@divegeester saidYou are not the dictator of the site.
Do you still think that Russ accepts financial inducements from me to get people removed from the site?
As you once famously claimed whilst going through one of your histrionic moods of fantasy.
@divegeester saidAnd this further enables your abuse of unsubscribed and subscribed users.
The same change worked perfectly to stop the abuse of the alert feature.
You can use alerts and they can't to get only your views seen on a page. In that vein, you can thumb the unholy crap out of them and they can't so it appears that everyone dislikes them and loves you.
As to your abuse of subscribers, limiting alerts to three means you can fill up a 15-post page with insults and lies about their heredity while only getting three of them removed.
You've gotten alerts neutered to keep people from protecting themselves from your abuse. Now you wish to do the same to thumbs so that it seems less obvious how people dislike your abuse, of them and of others.
You're not interested in the well-being of the site. You're only interested in your own well-being. Narcissists cannot handle criticism. Hard and cold fact right there, buckwheat, one that your behavior only highlights as true.

@moonbus saidTake it up with Russ spanky.
'Worked perfectly' to plaster over a symptom without addressing the real problem. Now you want another plaster on top of the first one. Head-in-the-sand-ism: "Don't make the problem go away, just make it so I don't see it any more."
I think the change to alert function worked perfectly to prevent the unwashed and unsubscribed abusing it.
I’m unmoved by your whining.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI care about this website which I have been financially invested in as a subscriber for 15 years. I’ve also paid for 5 years of other members subscriptions. I want the site to be even better than it is and I have a point with my well intentioned OP.
You sure do care a lot about thumbs and whether other uses decide to subscribe or not.
You and your cronies can bleat all you want Ducky.
@divegeester saidI imagine Russ wants to welcome non subs to the site, what with non subs being the potential subscribers of the future.

Comparing non subs to the unwashed probably isn't in his immediate strategy.

@divegeester saidIt's not much of a suggestion.
Let’s be clear what all this Ghost Chamberpot histrionics is about…
I’m suggesting that the thumbing feature should be for “subscribers only” as the alert function is.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhat you “imagine” won’t enter into Russ’ RHP strategy.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidFortunately your opinion means sweet fa.
