I much prefer it when somebody with the coherence of a gerbil DOESN'T tell me my positions on things.

I come from a family of midgets and deformed people.
- Father
- 1 Uncle
- 2 Nieces.

Edit - Did his mother ridicule and make derogatory statements about the fugly & the deformed?

I believe that a single MOD should have the right to remove single posts and close threads, but any warnings or bans (including thread removals) should be a two or three person decision. And if that's slow, so much the better, everyone has time to cool down.
There have been several incidents in which one user was spamming up the fora at high speed. In these cases I'd say it's absolutely essential that one mod can stop this immediately. Otherwise it sounds like a good idea for bans (I don't see why it should apply to warnings; I would certainly want to receive a warning if a mod thinks I am stepping over a line). Maybe a solution would be to allow a single mod to give a 1 day ban, and then it can be decided by several mods whether it should be made longer.

And of course I'd still like to have the mods warn people before they get a ban, but I know I am talking to deaf ears (or typing to blind eyes) there.

What if the 1 day ban wasn't even deserved? How do you take that back after the fact? As human beings we do and say things in anger we wish we could take back. The mods are no different, and a decision should never be made in anger.

I am not talking about your example used though!

Perhaps indicate how many threads in one Forum is acceptable in one day?

For example: I enjoy Grampy Bobby threads, I wish he posted more!

I would suggest
a) clear guidelines for the mods regarding when and when not to give bans (I don't know if they already have those, but I sometimes got the impression that they don't); and
b) if a mod gives bans several times that the other mods disagree with, that mod gets kicked from the mod team.

Yes, it sure helps if everyone is on the same page.

I am sorry about your grandmother. I am sure we have all had friends, or family who have been in car crashes, also midgets and deformed people in some of our familys. Which is a very good reason we should not put down, or make fun of either in our forums.

Perhaps this is a lesson learned for the future?
