WHY NOT MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR A PLAYER TO CREATE A TIMEBANK ONLY
GAME ? SAY, FOR EX. I GOT TIME TO PLAY ONE WEEKEND BUT I WANT THE
GAME TO BE FINISHED THEN AND NOT BE "FORCED" TO KEEP PLAYING EVERY
DAY... NOW, MY ONLY OPTION IS TO SELECT A 1/0 GAME AND ASK FOR A FAST
PLAYER BUT IF HE DOESN'T KEEP PLAYING FAST, I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP MAKING
1 MOVE A DAY OR LOSE ON TIME. I CAN ONLY SEE THE UP-SIDE OF MAKING
THIS POSSIBLE.
Lets say you start a 2 day timebank game. Both players move fairly quickly day one and then your opponent says "I'm off catch you tomorrow to finish game" - you each have 36 hours to go at this point. You say bye and wait for 60 minutes before making a move. You now have 35 hours and your opponents timebank now starts depleting overnight.
However your sneakly opponent comes back online and makes a move 2 hours after you have left the site. His timebank stops at 35 hours and now yours starts depleting while you are tucked up in bed. 9 hours later you wake up and go online to find you only have 26 hours left. You move but your opponent is online as well so responds. This happens throughout the day with gaps until your timebank has reduced to 8 hours but your opponent is still 9 hours more timebank than you says he is off again. Its night time, you really need your bed but you don't want to lose by your opponent depleting your timebank overnight. Eventually you move and go to bed. Your timebank is only 5 hours. Again however your opponent sneaks online and moves. His timebank has been reduced to 10 hours but by moving at 2.30am your timebank starts depleting. 7.40am your opponent comes back online and claims the timeout win.
8.40 am you come online ready to move only to find you have lost the game.
Timebank only games are fine when the amount is reasonable (30 days plus) but for short timebanks its is more a case of who can move last and it has been known for players on here to set their alarms to move in the middle of the night, knowing their opponent is sleeping.

FIRST, THANKS FOR RESPONDING TO THE IDEA (and not the caps lock).
SECOND : YOU'VE GOT A POINT THERE. I DID NOT THINK FAR ENOUGH.
FAIR PLAY IS THE PROBLEM. TO BAD, THERE SHOULD BE WAY TO PLAY FAST
AND NOT PLAY BLITZ...
My side idea: Automatically setting casplocked posts to normal lettering, to enable us inflexibles to read comfortably.
