The post that was quoted here has been removedI believe it is a big issue; an important issue; a key issue; a difficult issue; a divisive issue; an issue bound up with domestic violence and the feminization of poverty; an issue bound up with the big issues of education and health, and reproductive rights and health; I think it is a crucial issue; an issue affecting many tens of millions of women; and so I support those women who perceive it as a big issue.
Now, having heard that, do you think it is a "big issue" as well?
The post that was quoted here has been removedI don't know what percentage it is but I think it is a "big issue" and an important one.
There aren't polls about illegal things like abortion in this country. Women "marching in the streets and holding rallies" would get murdered by small but dangerous fanatical elements here akin to ISIS or Al Qaeda.
Such marches would certainly come under attack by armed men. The police might or might not intervene to protect the women. So some women might be murdered during the rallies. Or they'd be photographed or followed home and beaten up or murdered later where they live.
In some cases, women interested in the issue might be subjected to violence or even murder by husbands or male relatives.
Not sure someone from, say, Gallop Polls, wants to be going door to door ticking a questionnaire in these circumstances ~ not that he or she would have obtained permission to do so from local government or religious leaders anyway.
I am not aware of any newspaper editors who would print such letters for their own editorial policy reasons or perhaps for fear of their lives.
