@rajk999 saidThis merely shows Paul had views typical of the time about women and their role in society and why the Bible is a terrible guide on how men should treat women. It is also not a book to refer to when it comes to slavery or punishment.
This is why Paul told women to
- STFU,
- be quiet in the church
- be subject to your husband,
- stay home and look after the kids, have plenty sex
- mind your business,
- stop gossiping

@star-luck-key saidYou sound like a pantheist, not a Christian.
@Suzianne
Everyone follows Jesus whether they want to or not. Or even realize it. Our planet will always follow that big, beautiful, magnificent orb we call the Son/Sun which is the light of the world. The foundation for sure.
Can you imagine how it would be with out our Son/🌞?
Cold & dead. Just how it was before Jesus came & saved all.
@suzianne saidYou make them sound like a crocodile lurking a couple of inches below the cloudy water. Waiting for a young innocent gazelle to appear at the watering hole and take a drink. Then suddenly leaping forth, grasping said gazelle by its neck and dragging her into the waters below. Feasting upon the poor benighted creature before it has even had time to die.
"The ones with "the problem" here are those who constantly lay in wait for people to say something they can mock and continually bombard them with for the next 12 pages. If that doesn't produce victims, they'll prompt people into it with baiting questions." -- Suzianne
As true as the day I first said it.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidWomen have not changed. Churches are still full of women who engage in the very things Paul warned not to do such as gossiping, immodest dressing, an abundance of gold and jewelry, and ursurping authority over men in the churches. Women are not made the same way as men. They are prone to be materialistic and shallow. They are made that way so that they can be a good nurturer for kids and family. They are designed to make kids, feed and nuture them in a way a man can never do. Their role is critical for the survival of the human race and in the last 50 years many have gradually abandoned that role if favour of becoming like men. What a shame.

Also there is a specific line of authority in the bible which cannot be changed by man :
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Corinthians 11:3 KJV)
God
Christ
Man
Woman
Its cast in stone.

How many new (or old) posters have been chased out of here? And who are they? The ones who disagree with the crocodiles, of course.
@rajk999 saidPaul did the church no favors.

@the-gravedigger saidReplace the crocodiles with two capybara. And replace the gazelle with with a hyena. Now the story's more credible.
