As rocks, or any phenomena for that matter, are compounded, of course they will disappear.

At what point in the future of earth will we never be able to find two rocks?

I await your answer with gleeful anticipation.

Probably at the same instant you gain humility. 😉

Survival of the fittest, right? Why would a young, healthy male care if a middle aged male was about to die? More females for him. Charity could NOT have come about as a result of pure evolution.
Humans are group animals. We help one another survive. If no one helped anyone else, no one would survive as well.

Notice that if someone is selfish and has no altruism or charity, that person will receive none himself from anyone who knows them. It's absolutely an assistance to survival.

Wolves are group animals, where's the charity there? How about lions? Chimps?

Altruism of various forms is found in the animal kingdom. Here are some examples:

Occasionally individual [chimpanzees] adopt infants not related to them - instances of true altruism.

http://www.janegoodall.org/chimp_central/chimpanzees/similarities/default.asp

Individuals of the social insects, like bees, wasps and ants, defend their colonies to the point of killing themselves. You risk being stung if you disturb a honey bee nest. The sting embeds in your skin and when the bee flies away the embedded sting pulls out the bee's viscera killing the bee. The bee has sacrificed itself for its colony.

Some animals, for instance robins and thrushes, place their lives in danger when warning others of an approaching raptor, eg a hawk, by emitting a high pitched whistle. The whistle is difficult for a hawk to pin point. Nevertheless, it might give away the position of the caller who could then fall prey to the raptor. Meerkats (above picture) post sentinals to watch for danger and are also at risk when sounding their alarm.

"A male scub jay helps feed and defend the nestlings of another mated pair of jays instead of seeking out a territory and mate of his own."

Audesirk, Teresa, Gerald Audesirk and Bruce E. Byers. Biology Life on Earth Seventh Edition. Upper Saddle River: Prentice Hall, 2005.

As for dogs and wolves, they bring back food for others who have not taken part in the hunt and who didn’t risk their lives in finding it.

I'm having a hard time finding examples for lions other than the fact that the young are suckled communally.

I'm not sure what would be 'charity' and what would not. Animals of most kinds do nice things for other members of their species with no benefit to themselves and often to their own detriment.

I won't pursue this further if you will not. I'll even let people call Catholics Christians if it will end this before it begins.

I'm interested to discuss this Darfius, I promise to be calm and p ...[text shortened]... nt? Perhaps we could follow the style of debate you had with Pawnokeyhole? I await your reply.[/b]
Very generous of you to allow that Catholics be called Christians. You obviously have great diplomatic skills, and a strong love for your Christian brother.

Assuming that you are a member of one or another of the countless heretical sects, may I remind you that you are most certainly without the Apostolic Succession, that you deserve your excommunication and that you are most definitely a pervert.

Was it not Luther who used to dream that the Devil was buggering him at night? Please, sir, you, and your phoney "Christianity" are but a joke.

P.S. Starrman, if you are a Saxon, hard luck on the rugby this year (and last year too), as we fairly kicked your Germanic arses all over the pitch. Luther would probably have enjoyed that, the freak.

P.P.S. If you are "C.of E.", well done on being part of a sect founded on adultery. In this case you really should take the moral high-ground. Well done, sir.

P.P.P.S. If you are neither English, nor C. of E., please do disregard the last two additions. But in any case, might I just say, after having seen your photo, that my God, you're ugly!!

I think you're barking up the wrong tree, pea brain. The original quote regarding Catholics was stated by Darfius. Starrman is an atheist. Get your facts straight before you come in here and start slagging people off like they've had relations with your obese mother.

well he quoted it, and didn't question the statment. I redirect my previous invective towards darfius: fair play to him for loving Jesus whilst being filled with so much hate. He does so much to argue for religion, and is himself an example of what turns so many people from it. By the way, your insults are so moronic, darvlay, that they obviously do not merit a response. Assuming that my mother is obese does not follow, as I am not a citizen of the United States. Nor do I spend my time waving the stars and stripes from my trailer park home, nor my evenings lighting crosses on the lawns of Africans. Otherwise, that would have been a good one.

Ah spare me, please! You brought mothers into the discussion- if the fact that an American mother is statictically more likely to be obese than her European, African, Asian or Australian counterpart bothers you that much, then might i suggest that you avoid such Freudian slips, and steer the conversation elsewhere.

I don't know you and I don't remember having any contact with you before, so please keep you opinions of me to yourself. Though if you would care to send a picture of yourself to me, I'd be happy to cast the required aspertions upon your phenotypical worthiness...
