edit: Geez, Louise! Did you read the passage you quoted? It just says that there will be earthquakes and famine, not an increase thereof. There is no known time in history that doesn't include earthquakes and famine. That's like saying "babies will be born and old men will die."

However, neither earthquakes nor wars are increasing, so your desire for the end times will not be fulfilled any time soon.
Of course all this rather contradicts the other claim that I believe is somewhere in the Bible ie that you will not be able to predict the end of the world.

So in efect not the end but the start of the end, tho some would say the beginning of the end started when jesus left the world. but it will come like a thief in the night, so be ready at all times

I am also making a similar claim for the last 100 years or so. I am not sure how you would measure wars, but I am fairly certain that the world is more peaceful now than it has ever been in the past.
However, galveston75 is probably thinking mostly about what he has seen in the news this year, which is certainly not statistically significant.
