Originally posted by divegeesterTo baptize in the name Jesus or Yahshua is to baptize according to His authority, which is the same as baptizing in the name or authority of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is just as good.
Nudge for Mr Hinds.
Notice that in Acts 10:48 that the baptism was in the name of the Lord. So using the name Jesus only is not a formula for baptizing. As the apostle Paul said,
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 12:13 NASB)

I'm pointing out the scriptural facts to you. You are making an assumption that the disciples used another formula of Father, son and Holy Ghost. You are adding this to scripture when it didn't happen, never, not even once.
Will you therefore reconsider your position on being baptised in Jesus name?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
(Acts 10:48 KJV)
Even if you take your version, then Jesus Christ is not the name Jesus only. Actually the apostles never even heard of the name Jesus or Jehovah. So that is nonsense to say one must use the name "Jesus" only to be baptized. Jesus is just the way Yahshua is translated today.

Let me include some "emphasis" to help explain the point here:
Jesus speaks: right disciple dudes, listen up. I want you to preach the word and baptise people in the name of the person you believe to be the earthly representation of the Father, son and holy spirit.
Disciples speak: OK guv we got it. That's you. No probs were on it.
Can you see it Ron?

Show ME scientific evidence that baptizing does ANYTHING besides making people wet.
