Fine. If it doesn't matter, then let's both stop doing it.
Sorry to break it to you, Dogg, but you said that, not joseph. He said that know one has been thrown out of his church, and that homosexuality is an abomination. I went through all 5 pages, and he never said that.
If we are going to fight, let's fight with facts. Calling eachother names, etc. doesn't prove anything except that you're a big jerk.
josephw clearly lacked the gumption to directly state, "I don't want homosexuals in my church", but the thread topic was homosexuals as church leaders, which he called, "the blind leading the blind". His implication is clear, no matter how hard you try to 'play dumb' and not see it.

LMAO! Great closing line. 🙄😀
Originally posted by BigDoggProblemUpon further review, I'll withdraw my contention that josephw wants to kick gays out of the church. It appears he only opposes allowing them to be church leaders. I got him mixed up with genius, who seems to support actually kicking them out.

Originally posted by AcemasterOn occasion I come here to see what is being said. What I see is a bunch of self righteous Christians belittling the beliefs of everyone else. What atheists say here is often simply in reaction. I see Islam denigrated, I see atheists denigrated, and I see the most shocking things said about gay people. I am an agnostic and partly because it is intrinsic to what I believe that I might be wrong I try to avoid being disrespectful of other people's beliefs. I also get angry when I read some of the stuff here and it makes me post things I regret. I read someone's post about praying before and after posting here earlier in the thread and understand the need, if not the method.
I have seen a few Christians ridicule, and they should'nt have done it. If I did, I 'm sorry. But they've never done it routinly, and, even though you are'nt gonna like this, Dogg, Athiests and Agnostics do it a lot more.
Any church that hs thrown homos out is either horribly mis-lead or totally un-Christian.
Well, you really are'nt playing fair. If ...[text shortened]... han us. I've posted here longer than Joe, and I've never seen resort to those tactics.
There are a number of Christians here I have a high degree of respect for, while I don't agree with him always, KellyJay comes to mind. In the posts of his I have read he always trys to argue his points in a polite and patient manner. Both my parents are committed Christians and both of them have a good degree of respect for the beliefs of those whose faiths are different from theirs.
What I would like to see here is a debate about spirituality, in all it's forms. To reduce spirituality soley to belief in a god is to see only one path. A spiritual life exists even for complete atheists, although not one involving supernatural enitities. Perhaps starting from there they may come to believe in the same god as you do, and maybe not. But the polarisation of the discussion acts as a barrier to those like me who are skeptical from entering any kind of dialogue with believers which, in your terms, makes my soul forfeit and yours as well. As I alluded to above I was brought up as a Christian and I know what the bible said and it said that there will be more rejoicing in heaven over the salvation of one lost soul than in one hundred righteous ones. The idea in the parable about turning the other cheek is to shame your opponent into better behaviour, this is something you who believe should bear in mind when debating with us heathens.
