Are you predicting, now the data about your engine matchup rates has been publicized, that your rating is going to fall?
good moves that may be the same as some engines might play. Also
my rating is likely to fall even if I did not have other commitments.
It is difficult to keep winning when you are playing better and better
players. But since I will not be concentrating on these games as much
it is even more likely that I will start losing, which is apparently what
you guys want to happen.
P.S. Proper Knob already asked me if I were using an engine during
the games. I told him, no. But apparently he did not believe me. When
I lost both my games to cohonas, he said cohonas had a better engine
than I did. He recommened I get the new Fritz engine. Go figure.

would a game OTB. I had never clicked on the "analyze board" at that
time. I was not even using the opening books at that time. You are
right, that is where I would still be at this time if I had not decided to
use everything within the rules that were available to me. Now I even
consult master games. I always consult Bobby Fischers games when
I begin a game now to see if he had any games with that opening. I
also got new chess books: one on openings, one on middlegames,
and one on the art of attack, plus "Learn Chess Tactics", "Improving
Your Chess Tactics", and "Lessons with a Gradmaster". For Christmas
one of my sons gave me "Gary Kasparov On Garry Kasparov Part I:
1973-1985", which I haven't finished yet. So, as I said before, there
were many mistakes in that "Benny Hill" game on both sides.
The best thing that helped me, I believe, was using the "analyze board"
to help determine what my next move was going to be. Since I do not
visualize well, it really helps me to move the pieces and see the resulting
positions before I post my actual move. I have caught many bad and
not so good moves that way. It may not help everyone, but it did me.

most cases of pondering each move 3 days with 7 day time bank. And
one tournament I had 7 days and 14 days time bank. I do not need
that much time to determine my best plan, but one guy used his 14 days
of time bank and still used the seven days for each move after we got
into those games. I had trouble remembering my plan when someone
takes that long. So I got a notebook for each game and wrote down
the moves I had figured out. That way I did not have to recalculate
each time he moved. I learned the hard way, for once I had a plan to
be able to trap a knight, but by the time my opponent had moved I had
forgotten what I had calculated on that game and moved quickly thinking
I knew what to do and took a piece with the wrong pawn leaving an escape
square for the knight that I should have trapped a couple moves later.
Then I had to work hard to just get a draw. Anyway, you will not have
to worry about my high matchup rates anymore. I have a plan how to
bring them down and make you guys all happy.
