You said why does not God "reveal" himself by miracles.
Why they have stopped? I don't have a definitive answer. I think it is because He sent the Holy Spirit to the believers, and the miracles have served their purposes.
There have been numerous well documented miraculous/inexplicable healings at Lourdes in the last 100 years, to just mention an example. If you start out with a metaphysical assumption that miracles do not happen, you won't believe it of course. But if you approach it with an actual open mind and look at the evidence, you might find it compelling.
