I do not believe that 'conciousness' alters the world around us, however what I believe you are talking about is that at quantum scales, the act
of observing can alter then physical u ...[text shortened]... anything (or anyone) to get better for'?)

Anyhoo, a more imformed position later in the day!
Basically these experiments show that our consciousness does in fact alter the world around us.

In the first link Emoto demonstrates this by altering the chemical structure of water with words and thoughts.

“Through repeatable experiments Dr. Emoto demonstrated that human thoughts and emotions can alter the molecular structure of water. Now, for the first time, there is physical evidence that the power of our thoughts can change the world within and around us.”

In the second link a similar technique is applied to tumor cells in culture. This was the method of observation used.

“The growth of tumor cells in culture was chosen because it could be monitored quantitatively using state of the art biochemical techniques and was highly relevant clinically. The protocol involved measuring DNA synthesis by quantifying it’s ability to incorporate radioactive thymidine using standard biochemical techniques.”

This was the result.

“These results indicate that focused human intention can influence the growth of tumor cells by modulating the rate of DNA synthesis”

Keep in mind that the substances being altered are outside of the person projecting the thoughts, so this rules out serotonin and any biochemical changes in the brain. It helps to read the articles though.

Ok scottishinnz, thanks for bearing with me. I know I’ve promised you some references in regards to consciousness being able to alter the world around us. Here is one site.

Here is a very credible source. Glen Rein has a PH.D., and his work in quantum mechanics is accepted by many credible scienti ...[text shortened]... , an emergent property of a system.

All this evidence seems to contradict your position.
Dr Emoto's work is confusing. Whatever that is on those pics, it ain't water! It could be ice crystals. I don't know what pics 7 and 8 are, but they're not ice crystals.

After finding and reading the original article I wonder rather why some of Dr Emoto's water samples didn't freeze properly even when subjected to -25C for 3 hours and -5 after that. It suggests some type of contamination, pure water wouls certainly freeze under these conditions. I don't trust this. The use of music would elicit changes, since music represents an exertion of physical pressure....

Unfortunately, Dr Rein didn't include any stats. He only used a single replicate for each treatment and the variation seen could be easily explained by natural variation.

Not a convertee... Now had it been peer reviewed and the tests had decent experimental design I might have given it some creedance.

The process of consciousness affecting material objects is well known and widely accepted by many quantum mechanics physicists. It just take a little bit of research to verify this.
