the nice toys you use all the time are due to the work of Einstein.
For instance, if Big Al hadn't shown the math, your nice little
GPS would refuse to work, you HAVE to take into account
the effects of relativity into account or GPS would be about
3 miles off. The only reason they work is because they have
EXTREMELY accurate clocks onboard the satellites. Unfortunately
the fact they are moving at 18,000 mph and are 2 or 3 hundred miles
up causes them to undergo relativistic time shifts even though
they are not even close to the speed of light. So where would your
sorry a$$ be without Einstein, eh? I could give a lot more examples of
this but you probably get glazed eyes when reading more than three
sentences.
