bad things HAVE happened to me. i got a flat tire, i locked my keys in my car, ive left the lights on in my car, i broke off my mirror etc. when bad things happen, i can easily keep going and move on without grieving and i stay positive and still thank god for the things that DO go right. also, how am i supposed to give to charity when im making minimum wage? i dont want to be rich, i just want to have my own house, car, and food; i dont worship god in hopes to be blessed with money and if i WERE rich, id help people that need it most. ive really become a good person, there is nothing i hope to gain out of being good. i just want to be good to others.

The you *are* rich. Most of the people lives in a condition far worse than you.
If you don't want to be rich, then help those unfortunate who isn't, who doesn't even have food for the day.

do you guys have anything better to do than tell others what they can do better in life? im sure theres a lot in your life you can do better, but how about instead of criticizing other people for the things they DONT do, you should praise them for the good things they DO?

Oh, that's exactly I criticize christian people, especially fundamentalists, of. Namely to tell me how I should live.

This is much of what the Spiritual Forum is about. Telling others what is right and what is wrong, and why some people's belief is the only right and if you don't belive this, then you will end up in hell.

This is a hornet's nest. And the hornet's venom is extremely poisonous.

i never said or claimed that my way was the right way. i also never said that everybody else was going to hell for not seeing it my way. im saying that god is legit, at least for me. my best friend is an atheist and it works out great for him too.

I've never accused you of anything. I talk about christian people in general, no one in particular.

If you read through some of the threads here you perhaps find who is doing just that, and how they try to convince non-christians of the superiority of their religion.

If you are such a guy, I don't know, your future postings will tell, but up to now I don't think so.

oh you poor thing. violins are litteraly playing in the background. to have suffered so much and still have so much faith. you are an inspiration to us all.

a flat tire man? that is what you call bad things happening to you? how about getting cancer at 3 years old of age and having a kidney removed and spending the first 15 years of life in and out of hospital? would you say that would be a little worse?

charity doesn't mean much if you still have a crpload of money left. what, do you want a cookie for giving a million $ to charity and then going to monaco and throwing 5 mills in the casinos? since you are a new member in the christian mafia, you probably haven't read the whole book but there is a little story about 2 coins of charity from a poor widow being worth more than 1000 from a rich dood.

ive really become a good person
I won't pass judgements yet but from what you write on this site, you simply became a better person. and again from the posts in this thread i gather you were kind of a jerk before. it is a minor improvement but an improvement nonetheless. just don't expect any medals or cookies.

Negative: "I've got a flat tire..." 🙁
Positive: "I've got a flat tire, but it's only flat at one spot..." 🙂

i was actually planning on giving the MAJORITY of the money i make to charity. ive already thought about these things, trust me. it's not about the sum of money you give away, it's about the percentage of your income. if i were to give my $500 check away every two weeks, it'd be worth more than if bill gates gave away a million because i would be giving away everything i have as opposed to just a little chump change out of bill's pocket. if you want to hear worse things that have happened to me, i can dish out a few. my lil brother almost drowned when he was 3; he was sitting at the bottom of the pool for god knows how long (literally). my grandma was in a wheel chair because of a stroke, then she had a brain tumor and long cancer and finally the brain tumor came back and she died from it. recently my lil sister had a seizure which i had never seen before and i thought she was dead and im still a christian. i didn't intend "bad" to mean horrible life changing things; i meant just little every day things. it's the little every day things like flat tires that used to make me think, "what is this crap? thanks a lot god." to me it is the SMALL things that will change your faith

also another thing to consider is that throwing money at charity is not actually giving. you have to give your time as well. that is why i would be actively engaging in my community myself by giving my time to physically go and help people who need it myself.

I salute you and your efforts to help those need! 🙂 [no irony]

If you do it as a christian, then it's bad
If you do it as a humanitarian act, then it's good.

What's the difference? As a christian you hope to be rewarded in your afterlife.
An atheist wouldn't be that egoistic because he knows that there is no afterlife.
