My 'Jesus is a Socialist' tangent is partly based in fact and partly my own invention. I think it is closer to the truth than the Pauline mythology that currently passes for Christianity, but perhaps I push the angle more than the evidence warrants.

Then Bill says "I don't believe in God"
Then Fred says "Okay so you will reincarnate into a tree, some strong guy will keep hacking at you till he chops you down then they will tear off your bark, cut, then heat you up, until you become paper, then they will print the Bible on you. 😀

Originally posted by yo its meI imagine God as group of beings living on another planet in the heavens. Or maybe even several planets. I think we were made in his image because we were brought to this planet from another World/ Worlds, to start a new colony. I think it was a failed experiment for them. To us they were like Gods, because we were ruled by them. We were educated by them and taught by them. Then suddenly one day their world was destroyed which is why we haven't found life on any planets near us. Or we became to violent and ignorant for them to want to visit us. We would just kill them or lock them up in a nut house somewhere. I honestly think they look a lot like we do so we wouldn't really recognize them as anything special or different to us. We expect God to be something different than us. Something we can't kill or having special powers rather than knowledge. But then again that is just theory. But I believe God is a group of people as opposed to just some singular spiritual being or entity. A mirrored World or worlds with some different elements and or technologies then we have but similar. I think they might be more advanced in some areas and possibly inferior in others. Because the planets are different in nature different inventions have been necessary. Of course if I believe this to be true, what created them? Never mind I haven't a clue.
His personality, charistics etc.
Or do you think He dosen't have one?

God with a big'g' is the all , everything. It is and will remain unmanifested . It is not someone who speaks backs to us. It is the lifeforce of everything in the universe. And, it is, the universe.

It might interest you that in my religion, we don't start wars and kill people for sport or property and profit. We don't discriminate against other religions. Even though we might tell them they are full of crap. We also don't discriminate on race, sex, age, or social economic backgrounds. Even drug dealers are welcome. Especially drug dealers, oh yeah and strippers.
In my religion everyone is welcome. All you have to do is send me a check for ....and give me everything else you have, so there won't be any wars. In most cases I might give everything back to you and let you borrow it for free unless it's really cool. You just have to prove you are willing to sacrifice.
Anyone want to join my religion send me your ideas and what you believe in so I can approve of the ideas or deny them. I will be sure and pretend to tune my special antenna in to the God committee so that their spokesman can speak to me and I in turn can speak to you of their answers.
This of course will make everyone be in total awe of my special abilities and knowledge, when they hear the word of God through me. Women will faint when they hear me speak. They like to do that kind of stuff, because people pay attention to them. Men will protect me because they like to catch the women when they faint. That stuff is cool you know. My antenna works almost as well as Billy Grahams, yours won't so don't even try. If this gets to be really boring I might appoint a new crazy ass leader. Of course I will always keep most of my powers.
Ps...mods are the devil. 😉

I have often spoken to people who say that he has spoken to them and if that happened to me it would allow me to at least try to imagine God. .... in the same way that when certain people walk into a room one can get an impression of their charisma (sometimes even before they have spoken). And God speaking to someone is not unlike God coming into the same room as them. There must be someone on this forum to whom God has spoken. If so, was it possible that hearing his voice added to the way, the colour, the ambience, of how that person imagined God, and if so did the mental picture of God change as a result of hearing his voice ?
By entering a room, I mean somehow entering the room that is your mind ..... was the voice solely within your head or coming from outside it. I am not interested in what was actually said, that is personal, but how hearing the voice of God changed one's image of him - as per the question raised by Yo.
Anyone have any ideas or experiences on this ?
