I agree that divisions and denominations are a problem. However, Christ said "I will build my church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."

I believe that He meant it and that divisions and denominations cannot stop Him from finishing His work. Gideon's little army of 300 didn't let the surrounding degradation of Israel stop God from winning victory for Israel.

And the tribes carried away to Babylon did not stop a recovery of the good land, the city, and the temple in Jerusalem from being rebuilt. So I know that denominations, though a scandel, will not be able to stop Christ from building His church.
