WTF? When did Ireland turn 180 degrees and march back into the past? Who stands to profit from this?

The old 'reasonable person' shtick -- who actually decides? Some demented magistrate or a jury, at least?

it has nothing to do with God my friend, not the slightest iota of a semblance of an ants hair. i think that the question that Bosse posed is really the thing we should be asking, who is to benefit from this? i cannot speak for Ireland, although its but twelve miles across the water, but in Pakistan, this type of Law was fomented with the specific intent of empowering the religious leaders, who still hold considerable political sway, both in parliament and on the ground, why it has reared its head in Ireland, i would dearly love to know. That the Irish themselves, who have overcome some almost unbelievable hurdles, both religiously and politically, should regress, i do not know why.

That changes things a bit. Instead of being introduced, a draconian, anachronistic law has been softened -- just not enough.

I'd be interested in finding out more about what the Irish legal community is like. Are the judges relics from some forgotten realm or are they in touch with the aspirations of the people, assuming that the people, if people they are, are the sort of people who aspire, be it merely to aspire?

they really should have a disgruntled atheist forum where one could go and salivate ones woes away until ones heart was content, where even the mention of the divine could result in a forum ban, and where absolute truth is a dirty word, lol you guys knock me out! top notch entertainment!
