Robbie, how can you rely on religion when you see the long list in the very
first post?

Why are there so many? How do you know that yours is the correct one?

I have said this about religion so many times.

If there was a god up there he would make himself plain and then
there would only be one religion in the world.

There would also be no reason for Faith, and Free Will would be a joke.

You have to blame Adam for this. God would be intimately involved with Man had not sin been introduced. God cannot abide sin, and therefore must remove Himself from Man. Christ, the Son, is our only bridge back to God.

I would associate free will with having the intelligence
to weigh up a situation and make the correct choice in
that situation among all the other choices you may have.

This involves logic, common sense and the examination of
facts available to you.

Faith has nothing to do with it. If I was on an Thai beach and I saw a large tsunami
coming towards me then I quickly examine the situation and make the correct
choice to try to get to higher ground.

What would you do? Would you stand there hoping that faith would turn
the water in another direction away from you?

And don't start sprouting Jesus at me because if he was there he allegedly
had special magical powers that the rest of us don't have.

because dear Johnny, wisdom is proved righteous by its works, in other words, apply the Law of the Christ and Biblical principles and it will go well with you. There is only one Bible, one lord, one faith, one baptism. The reasons why you have different denominations are because of attempts to impose exegesis upon scripture where none exists. The churches of Christendom have abandoned the word of God and have supplanted their own teachings , effectively negating it. Modern Christians are served up a spiritual buffet, they choose to pick those elements which appeal to them and to leave those that don't, one only needs to look at their acceptance of all kinds of practices contrary to the teachings of the Bible.

But there are so many passages in the bible that
don't hold much if any relevance today.

And there's all the cherry picking. And adding of stuff that isn't there.

There is much more of it that is timeless, though.

It didn't take you long to jump in.

This is why Christianity is the best choice.

Most other religions that are not Abrahamic are just "feel good" religions based on Nature.

Faith finds its best use *after* your religion is chosen.

If I was on that beach with Jesus I'm sure he'd also say "Okay, I think it's time to scram."

No, religion does not necessitate an abandoning of logic or rational thought. It requires it to discern the truth. Just like Science.

No. It would be too late. This is how you do it: when you notice that the see retreats deeply inwards and a big portion of land is unveiled, you know that tsunami will emerge soon with terrible power; this is the right time to run like ole Tam😡

With a whole bottle of single malt inside you, you won't feel a thing.

Is that a Stewart or a Campbell tartan?
