JWs hold the teachings of Russell in higher regard than the teachings of Christ. Thats a prime characteristic of a religious cult.
rather interestingly the very same lie was levelled against the early Christians as well
(Acts 28:22) . . .But we think it proper to hear from you what your thoughts are, for truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”
our leader is the Christ, we can prove it, for we are willing to follow his commands, can the same be said of the plastic weed like pc evangelists who talk the talk but who do not walk the walk, i dont think so!

I am curious. I always thought 666 was something associated with the Devil by Christians. Does it have any meaning outside Christianity and are there any religions that hold it to be a meaningful, good or lucky number? If so, what is its origin?
Or do you just have it in order to deliberately offend Christians or 'send them a message' or as a joke?
Once ,(I had been quite sleep deprived), I invited a guy I had just met back to see my newborn child. It was quite a trip back to my place. When we got there I started to feel a 'bit weird'. Then I saw a piece of paper with some telephone numbers on it. It was upside down and upon seeing the number 666, (999 upside down), I 'freaked out' . I just lost it. I got totally scared of this guy and told him he had to leave immediately. He was just like , "why ? I just got here!".
I was delusional, for sure and basically pushed him out the door.
Something about seeing 666 set me off.
Now years later I came upon the works of Allestair Crowly. His self-proclaimed number was 666. And he shed some sort of weird-ass light on the subject.
I realized that when I freaked out years ago was due just to my own supertstitions about that number and nothining more.
A leeson lived, a lesson learned. A very nice , revealing lesson for me in the end. Hence , the number on my mirror.

Actually he probably thinks that anyone who is not currently Christian is a perfect target for his message. Just because you are into 'spiritism' does not indicate that you are not likely to convert. If anything I would expect you to be more convertable than the average atheist and maybe even easier than say a Muslim (based solely on the information that you are 'into spiritism'.)
I assure you I am one of the least convertable people I know.
The whole subject of 'conversion' is just weird to me...(I could go on...)

He came back again! 3rd time.So I invited him in for tea.
Now any half intelligent person would realize upon entering my dwelling that I must be into 'spiritism' (is it?). I have "666" on my mirror. A couple of tarot cards stuck on the walls , a few other spiritualty-referenced pics. And of course a heap of my own, mainly abstract , art.
This guy ...[text shortened]... ll listen to their stuff.
Surely he must've had an inkling he was wasting his time...
Originally posted by karoly aczelAnd I don't doubt you. However, from his point of view, simply seeing the items and symbols in your home would not lead him to that conclusion but rather the opposite, so I wouldn't be so surprised that he didn't take the hint as you apparently expected him too. The very fact that you invited him in probably puts you in the most hopeful 1% as far as he is concerned.
I assure you I am one of the least convertable people I know.

I 've still got "the Book of Thoth, the Egyptian Tarot" here but I would hardly call myself an advocate.
It was just a nice lesson for me many years ago and has not entered my life since 🙂

I blame it all on rhp!
I just wanted to know what he thought about certain issues, and being open-minded, how could I not invite him in?
(You should've seen his reaction when he saw my lounge room. He almost stopped dead in his tracks. Lol. )
