Biblical principles are able to transcend the epoch in which they were penned, love of God and love of humanity are still as relevant as when the admonition was penned 2000 years ago. You know its true. Give up your allegiance to that the defunct religion of atheism and embrace the dynamism of Christianity.

Besides, it's hardly making the debate 'personal'. I'm merely asking if this is a view you share.

would [anyone] care to comment on these rather revealing revelations with regards to the dangers of blood transfusions and survival rates?
Blood Transfusions May Have Killed Millions
How many millions of lives have blood transfusions saved?
Heart surgery patients are twice as likely to die during the first 30 days of hospitalization if they receive a blood transfusion .
What is the survival rate for blood transfusions?
[1] How many heart surgery patients who haven't received a blood transfusion die during the first 30 days of hospitalization? [2] How many heart surgery patients would have died if they hadn't received the blood transfusions you mentioned?
Blood Transfusions May Have Killed Millions
[1] How many of these 'may-have-been-millions' died despite having blood transfusions as opposed to having died because of the blood transfusions they had? [2] Within how many years of having their blood transfusions did the deceased have to die in order to be counted among the 'may-have-been-millions'?

Originally posted by menace71Well if I could heal as Jesus did then I'd heal but I can't. Jesus did not heal with a blood transfusion either.
Your words then as you watch a child die..... that you had the power to save. Which is more evil? To do good (transfusion)? Or do evil let a child die because you refused to do what is right by saving the child's life? Jesus asked the pharisees a very similar question about healing on the Sabbath! Jesus healed on the Sabbath it's the same principle.

You do as you see fit for you and your family and I'll do as I see fit with what the bible says and what can be done with the advances with blood substitues that do work and with much less danger and with knowing the command from my God that says in the bible to abstain from blood.
If you or anyone here can show a different message from God that we can't eat blood but can put it into our bodies by other means, I'm all ears.
Originally posted by galveston75I've read the stuff you presented about eating animal blood, pagan rites, blood sacrifices, strangling animals etc. But you haven't cited a Bible verse that prohibits blood transfusions.

Originally posted by FMFGeeeez. Really hard huh? Doesn't the bible say to not eat blood as in putting it into your body? So why is it so hard to understand that a blood transfusion is putting blood into your body in an even more direct and dangerous way?

Is it perhaps God knows the dangers of what one could get in putting blood into your body from another human even into your stomach much less then directly into your blood? One would conclude that don't you think?
But since you are no longer a christian you have perhaps lost the words and meanings and common sence issues that God has set out from the the bible for those who want to adhere to it's words and wisdom?
