There are mountains which do have a tendency to rise, Sister X. Sea fossils have been found on very high altitudes.
These facts don't prove anything about a story or report in the Bible, but they certainly disprove your way of reasoning.
Originally posted by ivanhoeEver heard of plate tectonics? Earth is not 6,000 years old, but more something like 4,500,000,000 years old. Those fossils, when dated radiometrically or otherwise are millions of years old.
Then how come, Mr Rational, that sea-fossils have been found on mountains on very high altitudes ?
Originally posted by ivanhoeAlso, I should point out that fossils found on mountains wouldn't have been able to happen in that abundance with only 40 days of rain and however long the flood supposedly lasted after that.

What Xanthos and ScottishinNZ said about moutains "growing" is correct, I won't repeat it.
Originally posted by ivanhoeThe rate of rise of these mountains varies - it only averages to some set figure of a few centimetres a year or whatever.

Also, remember that the age of many of these mountains is significantly older than 6000 years. In my neck of the woods - Australia - our largest mountain system, which has many such fossilised sea creatures at its highest peaks, is probably around 50 million years old. Plenty of time to rise, even if slowly. Although in this case it was probably much more rapid and has been falling ever since.

It seems as though scientists have discovered a large ocean of water inside of the earths crust. Noah's ark anyone?
Anyone who claims otherwise is an idiot.

maybe the latest in high temperature superconductors which has so many uses you would have to write ten books just to spell it all out.
Or why analyzing the CBR gives an independent way to measure the age of the universe and how to see past that epic in the life of the universe. Of course you would never put anything like that up because it does nothing one way or the other, well maybe pegging the age of the universe at 14 billion years would stick in your craw but you only put out posts that have negative connotations for science or at least you THINK they leave holes in what is generally accepted thought on these subjects.
